I want to start by saying that we are all the protagonists of our own movie called ‘Life.’ But you choose what kind of protagonist you want to be: The one who complains and is always in the victim position. The villain who finds a problem in every solution. The one who prefers supporting roles, not accepting their greatness. Or the HEROINE who transcends and creates a great story.
As you can see, it’s up to you to decide what kind of protagonist to be. I’ll be honest with you; becoming a HERO is not easy because breaking free from victimhood and negativity is complicated. We grew up in a society where it’s easier to complain and blame others than to take responsibility for our actions and decisions. It requires courage, bravery, and a willingness to face the challenges that life will throw at you when pursuing your dreams. Remember the movie ‘The Pursuit of Happyness,’ starring Will Smith, where he portrays Chris Gardner, a real-life entrepreneur who went from living on the streets with his son to owning an investment firm and becoming one of the richest men in the United States. Didn’t he have to fight for his dreams against a seemingly unfavorable destiny?
The book ‘The Hero’s Journey’ by Joseph Campbell talks about living in an ordinary world, receiving the call to adventure, and leaving our everyday environment to embark on a journey (venture) that will lead us through strange and challenging paths. But in the end, we will save the world and ourselves. No hero has a cape and flies like Superman; they are actually normal beings with a desire to transcend, fulfill their dreams, inspire, and help many people. Do you identify with that?”
Maybe you're a Latina woman who wants to become an entrepreneur, create a personal brand that people remember, and have a story worthy of a movie, but you're not quite sure where to start. A protagonist in her own movie has the ability to see herself and ask, "Why am I here? What am I passionate about? What are my qualities? How do I contribute to the world?" Answer these questions with complete sincerity. Now, I'll give you some tips to start your personal brand with a clear goal and content plan so that the world can recognize you.
To begin, a personal brand is your identity, what people perceive of you. The concept of a personal brand was coined by Jeff Bezos, founder and CEO of Amazon, in the late 1990s in the USA.
The goal of a brand is for people to easily recognize and remember you, depending on how you impact and the value you provide.
Why is it so important to have a personal brand?
- Because you stop being just one more and become the leader of a niche.
- Because you generate more credibility.
- Because there is recognition.
- Because there are more job opportunities.
How to develop your personal brand:
- Start by defining your brand. Complete the following sentence: I help ___________ (your niche) through (Product, service, benefits) to ________________ to achieve (result)
- Choose the name of your brand; it can be your own name or one you identify with. Mine is "LIVE YOUR MOVIE" for two reasons: first, because I studied cinema and direct short films, documentaries, videos; the seventh art is in my DNA, and secondly, because I recently realized that although I enjoyed being behind the camera directing, inventing stories with fictional characters, I love being the protagonist more and want to inspire and help other professionals, entrepreneurs to be the same, like this beautiful LatinaPro community.
- Have an online presence This point is crucial because having a beautiful name and a clear definition is useless if no one knows you. But don't worry; I'll give you a mini-guide to start creating content for your brand.

creating content for your brand.
- Instagram is a very visual social network, and educational content like tutorials works well.
- For TikTok, content is more casual and personal.
- For Facebook, educational and entertaining content that tells stories is suitable. On Facebook, people are willing to watch longer videos compared to Instagram and TikTok.
- After choosing the social network, define a main theme and a maximum of 3 sub-themes. Example:
- Brand: Live Your Movie
- Theme: Personal brand content creation
- Sub-themes: Business – mindset interviews with entrepreneurs
- Now, with your main theme and sub-themes, create a list (I recommend using Excel). Look for other profiles similar to yours, view trending content or other networks for inspiration. Create a list of at least 30 topics.
- After having your list, start breaking it down. Choose 9 topics; why 9? Because people usually look at the latest 9 posts. If you want an organized and beautiful feed, make sure these nine have homogeneity. Arrange them by publication date and format, i.e., determine if it will be a reel, an image, a carousel, a video, or a live.
- In a Word file, write about each topic. Ensure you have a catchy title, explain the topic, and include a call to action.
- Now, get creative. After finishing, design each post; I recommend using "CANVA," an application with templates and easy to use. If you need to create videos, start recording (you can download my PDF: Practical Guide to Creating Videos at Home on my website: www.liveyourmovie.com)
- And the final step, PUBLISH.

It might sound like a lot of work at first, but over time, when your brand grows, you can delegate this function and focus on the essentials of your brand.
Dear Latina entrepreneur, I hope you start living as the heroine and protagonist you are.
